I am leaving for Ozzfest in Sacramento in a about an hour!
I cant wait to see Slipknot, Mudvayne, Drownig Pool, Disturbed, and His Holyness MARILYN MANSON!
Anybody else already been or going to Ozzfest soon?
Will be back to update later!
K heres the skinny on the show:
-The first band my friends and I checked out was OTEP on the third, who to my surprise were amazing, they had a very energetic female lead singer, I was quite impressed.
-Then we went over to the second stage to check out Drowning Pool, who just brought the house down when they performed Bodies, Crazieness Everywhere!
-After Drowning Pool, Taproot was on, Not much to say bout them. But Mudvayne was on after them, and any ounce of calmness that was in that place left when they started to play Digg.
-Now on to the maain stage: Some band called Black Label Society kicked off the main stage, Ho Humm.
Then Crazytown came out, BTW there was only like 5 mins betwen bands due to they had a rotating stage, Crazytown, not my favorite but put in a hard performance of the songs Darkside and Lollipopporn.
-Now for the sickness to begin Disturbed came out and just assulted the crowd with the song Enemy and moving along into Voices. An all around great hard hitting performance. Funny side note some girls were up front and not looking impressed so the lead singer of Disturbed stops the show and has everybody in the ampatheatre say at once to these girls: "Fvck Off"
-Linkin Park was next and they didnt seem to have a hold of the crowd the way Disturbed did. Great performance of Crawling and Papercut though.
-Papa Roach was up next, kinda wierd seeing them on such a grand scale after seen them in the littlest of dive bars all over Sacramento. Something ws wrong eith their sound but nooone seemed to care, they just kept on rockin through a 1/2 hour set that included: Blood Brothers, Broken Home, Between incects and angels, Dead Cell, and finally Last Resort.
-And Now My Favorite Part of the evening - SLIPKNOT these guys are entertainers to the end, 9 guys on stage, hydrolic lifted drum sets on both sides of the stage, pyro, and the main lead singer has one of the greatest stage presences I have seen in a long while. Best part of thier performance would have to be the song Spit It Out, got the entire place on its feet and singing.
-The next part of the eveing turned out to be a disapoitment, and it was Marilyn Mansons set. He has wowed me in the past with his shows but not this time, maybe its because he is part of such a large ensemble that he couldnt the largest scale of things.
-Not Much to say bout Black Sabbath but Ozzy is old and fireworks dont make up for it!
