Going to Orlando in May

I'm going to Orlando with my family and was wondering what the best way to go about getting tickets for theme parks is? We'll probably go to Disney for 1-3 days and Universal for 1-2. Also do you guys think Universal is good for 2 days or is 1 enough? Is there anyway to get good deals on tickets?

chillers 😀

are you staying at the resort? you can get the package and it's great because it allows you entrance to all parks.

Chillers? We aren't staying inside the park but about 2 miles outside of it.

The best way to get a good deal on tickets is to find someone that works at the park in some capacity. They get so many passes to give out to family and friends per year and many of them just sell them.

Other than that, there really isn't a way to find a good deal. There are a couple of websites that do deals if you do a Google search on it....but again, deals at Disney Parks are hard to find.

Thanks a bunch for the info. It's good to know instead of spinning my wheels all day long to try and find a deal.

not really they get about 2-4 tickets every 3-4 months

Universal/Islands of Adventure has a deal right now where if you buy a single day ticket you get four more days free. I recommend that and go to Islands of Adventure. The Spiderman ride is hands down the best ride i have ever been on in my life. Universal is ok but most of there rides are outdated. (except the Mummy...it was pretty cool). Me and my wife are actually going down there next week for vacation.

There are(used to be) places outside Disney on US441 (Kissimmee) that will have leftover tickets for sale.

They would buy left over mullti-day tickets and then resell them.

My girlfriend worked at Disney for an internship for about 7 months. Here's her recommendations:
- Get a park-hopper pass
- 2 Days at Universal is good
- Get "fast passes" wherever you can in the park
- if you want free tix, go to a time share seminar (not guaranteed, but often can score a ticket or two)
- Take advantage of "Magic Hours" after the park closes - ask a cast member about it
- Get there right when the park opens each morning: it's cooler, no lines, and there's neat stuff that goes on at open

Hope this helps!

I was in orlando last october... won a trip through work, we stayed at the hard rock, which is within walking distance of universal/islands of adventure, actually they have a path and they run boats to and fro. also, the room keys functioned as express passes at the parks which was cool. that and the city walk which is across the way from the parks is good fun at night... we were there two nights and i just got stumbling drunk both times and took the boat back to the hotel, pretty convenient.
