Canada Post $51.50 Usually takes 2-8 business days to ship. *
Purolator Ground $53.00 Usually takes 1-6 business days to ship. *
FedEx Ground $56.17 Usually takes 1-7 business days to ship. *
UPS Ground $56.25 Usually takes 1-6 business days to ship. *
Xpresspost $66.62 Usually takes 1-4 business days to ship. *
Purolator Air $86.54 Usually takes 1-2 business days to ship. *
UPS Air $91.94 Usually takes 1-2 business days to ship. *
FedEx Air $96.99 Usually takes 1-2 business days to ship. *

Which service would you use? Which do you find is the most trustable and won't damage parts. Also, if my delivery is lost for any reason, how will I go about to retrieving it?

Thanks.

I've always used Purolator when ordering from NCIX, or UPS is good too. With big orders I always go with Purolator Air. The last time I ordered with Fedex the next-day package got there 2 days late...

Hmm is the air really worth the +$40? I mean, I know it gets sent faster, but does it get handled better? I've seen how people handle packages at airports....:(

You're seeing the sky caps throw personal travel luggage around, they don't care about that. When a courier ships air it's on their own planes, and their own employees handle the packages right to the trucks, with UPS at least.

I always order w/ Purolator or UPS ground, unless I need the package ASAP. You'll be fine with using that route, assuming you have patience. Keep in mind NCIX takes a couple days sometimes to process orders (the slowest part of NCIX order process).

Guess I will go with Purolater Air, because the rig came out to $1524 after tax and shipping, that it using Pruolater ground, guess since my budget is $1600 I will spend a little more for the air.

Thanks for the input.

Was also wondering, have you ever had a DOA item or any problems with ncix? And how does their heavy duty box work....I pay $5.99 once and they put all my items in 1 box? It is a full rig including the case(but no monitor/mouse/keyboard/speakers).

I've bought around $50,000 from them over the last two years, I've had a few items DOA, but very few. If they come DOA I just RMA and all is good. I've never used their heavy shipping box option, I don't think it's necessary. I really wouldn't bother paying the extra $40 for air shipping unless it's b/c of impatience. It's not that air packages are treated any better. Keep in mind that it'll still take the same amount of time for NCIX to process your order.

Ahhh, how long does the RMA process take and do you pay to send it back or do they? Roughly how long will it take to arrive if by air? I live in Ontario.

I don't have that :( There are no computer stores around here that sell anything I want, so I have to order online.

UPS is always late, I've never had a shipment with UPS that went smooth. Purolator is thus far great, if not flawless with my shipments. Although that may nit be the case with all shipments. I've sent and received enough shipmets to say that Purolator is a great choice. And this is in Canada, Montreal more precicely.

Edit: I've actually had UPS lose a Xeon processor that was being shipped with a Chenbro case. I was most impressed by their incompetence that day... and the following days...

Don't worry so much. :)

Their RMA process is pretty easy if it comes to that.

As for who pays: If you RMA immediately after receipt b/c it was damaged, they should pay for it. If you are a Premier Partner they always pay.

Time frame for you to get your stuff: If everything is in stock give them 1-3 days to process the order, then it takes a day to get to you, maybe two as a worst case scenario 5 days to get to you, should be less.

They're good guys to deal with, if you need any help with anything, drop me an pm and I'll help you out. Also, have you pricematched anything, that sometimes ads to the processing time of the order.

PM me your parts list and prices and I'll let you know what they would cost if you're a Premier Partner, might be worth getting. :)

I'm always surprised to see people mail-ordering from NCIX ... don't you have comparable shops you can just drive to to get your stuff?

around here there's like 25 shops within 15 minutes of an NCIX, all with similar prices.

HOWEVER ncix staff are always friendly & reasonable, especially to a gwai-lo like me.

Purolator Ground is the best IMO.

Cheap, but fast enough.

I use Canada Post for a lot of stuff from there too, since the Canada Post depots are much closer for me to get to than FedEx or UPS too, because i am never at home when they attempt to deliver.

just remember if you use Purolator that if you aren't home on their first attempt, you'll have to go and pick it up yourself, which is a PITA imo

I go with Purolator.

I live in BC so Purolator ground is next day for me. I've had to RMA 4 items over the last year, for me the turn around is 2 days. Also because I have a VIP account they pay for all the shipping on the RMAs.

NCIX is excellent.

See now for me, that's perfect, since nothing pisses me off like not being able to pick up my package till they have attempted 3 times (Fedex) :|
I am never home daytime hours anyway, so pickup works better for me.
