My brother lives in downtown Manhattan and I am going to go see him this weekend. I haven't been there and my brother has only lived there a couple of months and has yet to do anything but work.

I am going to be there for 5 days... so I should be able to see most of the "touristy" attractions.... or so I hope. Are their any of those group tours that worked out well?

Few places I figured I wanted to see already:
-Central Park
-Statue of Liberity
-Empire State Building
-Time's Square
-Seinfeld Coffee Shop <-- help, tell me where it is!!! Isnt it called Monks or something?
-Maybe see a show? Any ideas for shows that I can go see .... obviosuly I don't have tickets yet

Any other ideas? I know you guys can help me out!

Thanks

Definatly go pick up a New York City guidebook at a local bookstore (I recommend ?The New York Times Guide to New York City?)

The restaurant is called Monks on the show, but is called ?Toms Resturrunt' in real NTC life. Also, it looks nothing like the set the producers constructed for the Hollywood studio.

Tom's Restaurant

Also check out Kramer's Reality Tour

Also get a publication in the magazine travel section called 'New York' and/or 'Timeout: New York', with the latter being a stronger recommendation for you.

I'd spend at least one day just walking around thw town, going off on side streets, finding little quirky stores/museums that aren't all the touristy-rave. (perhaps even one day for each three main sections of 'the City')

If I were going, I wouldn't go anywhere else until I've visted Ground Zero, but that's just me personally.

Btw, the Seinfeld coffee shop is called 'RESTAURANT' (as far as I know). :)

Umm... it's a big hole in the ground, which is surrounded with fencing and shady souvenir stands. I'd pass.
