Going to my Younger friend's prom.. Why do I feel strange? *PIC*

Eh, it just feels weird. Andie is 3 years (18) younger than me (21) and is a senior in HS. We have a very strong friendship and I'm like an older brother/daddy to her. She always comes to me for an advice regarding boys & hardships in life. I'm always there in times of trouble & lecture the hell out of her when she makes mistakes in life... She used to have a big crush on me when we first got to know each another 4 years ago, but that has wonderfully evolved into a priceless friendship we have now.

So I was talking to her on the phone last night and she asked me to her HS prom all of a sudden. I was sort of surprised but responded with 'I'd love to'. Now the day after, this is sort of feeling strange to me. I guess I'd have to admit, she's been getting prettier in my eyes lately despite of being the older brother figure.

Compare this, my gf is also exactly 3 years younger than me as well but she's already into second semester in college and we have a mutual mentality level between us as what a dating relationship should be. But with Andie, it's totally different. She's like a little girl to me. I'm always anal & ask to behave when she decides to drink at a party, the boys she meets, etc... And Andie and I definitely have the multi-level mentality: Andie as the little sister and me as the overseer kinda thing...

I don't know where this is going anymore but the fact is that I'll be her prom date, we're close friends, she used to have a crush on me, & she's starting to look good (uh oh). And I have a beautiful gf of 15 months and going strong. She wouldn't mind me going with Andie though, she's cool like that. (whereas I should work on my petty jealousy over her platonic guy friends)

Anyways, here's a pic of Andie. I remember a I started a thread about half-asian, half-white girls being HOT, I think Andie can be a fiOne example.. (she's half Korean, half Italian) 😉

that is out of the question for both of us. Like I said, I have a gf and she knows that. It's not like she's asking me to the prom to hit on me. When she asked, it's automatically assumed it's as friends and my gf will know about it.

Ah, there are TONs of guys that would ask out a girl even knowing that girl have a bf. think about it.
 
Look at it this way, atleast you're taking her as opposed to someone who just wants to get in her pants. If anything, you're sort of protecting her again...
 
whatsup with the glasses? er... nevermind. thing to keep in mind is that you HAVE a lovely gf. Be true to her or else you'll end up in a very unattractive position. Although your friend Andie is one fine lady but that's your sister fool!(<---don't even think about it unless you're a sick bastard). 🙂 good luck dude.

very good point! she also mentioned about this sammy kid she likes and he blatantly told her about getting physical if she asked him. I totally forgot about that!

This is a tricky situation. I think that it can be pulled off, but there's not much room for mistakes. The part about how she "used to" have a crush on you is kind of dangerous too. Take care that things don't fall back towards that.

You feel strange because it's strange to go to prom with someone who is like a sister but used to have a crush on you, especially when you have a girlfriend who is the same age as her.

That's an even more dangerous situation. Hopefully she's not the malicious type, but if you get drunk and pass out - even if nothing happens, she could easily claim it did, or exaggerate something small into something serious.

That being said, I'm sure there's a few thousand lonely horny ATOTers who'd kill to be in your position. Enjoy. 😀
