First time in New Orleans, first time at mardis gras, anything in particular i should check out? I will be staying with a friend who is attending Tulane, so he will probably keep me pretty busy. But is there anything i should be sure not to miss?
 
1) I think its called Pat O'Brians... get the hurricane.
2) Camera
3) Purchase beads before you go to N.O. Get the biggest, shiniest beads you can get.
4) Shave down south
5) Have fun.

In a 26 oz. Hurricane glass, mix
4 oz. of Pat O'Brien's Hurricane Rum or a good dark Rum and
4 oz. of Pat O'Brien's Hurricane Mix
Fill with crushed ice, and
Garnish with an orange and cherry.

from pats site, although other places involved using the mix, light rum, dark rum, and a touch of 151

You can get them at local shops pretty cheap. However you have to be a local to know where such shops exists.
 
Get one of those travelling money pouches... the ones you can attatch to the inside of your leg/arm, bills only.

When you're passed out you won't have to worry as much... 😀
