Only had experience with packed powder/hard pack conditions, anybody care to tell me a thing or two about skiing on powder?

Should be 11 foot base, with 8-9 feet of powder/packed powder on top :)

Storm clears out friday, leaving for 2 beautiful days of skiing

Don't get stuck, i snowboard personally so its different, but getting stuck in powder is the worst next to eating it hard. You put your hand down to get up and it just goes down. After 5 minutes your exhausted.

Packed powder is easy to ski on, just like skiing on groomed trails in the afternoon.

As for skiing on pure powder it makes it more difficult to turn, so what I have always done is kinda hopped a little to turn. Once you start turning it's easy, it is just hard to get started. Thats what I do on powder up to about a foot or so. Once you get past a foot a powder you just go too slow to really do anything, unless you are going down a really steep hill, ie double black diamond.
