Going to look at my first apartment tommorrow

Current residence: Sharing an 800sqft house built in 1949. One bathroom, four people. Its crowded. Generally undesirable. $550/mo all inclusive, including internet.

The city I live in, Lloydminster, has 22,000 with a less than 1% rental vacancy rate. When I first moved here two months ago I called every single apartment in town...no vacancy, no expected vacancy. Insane rental market....I was lucky enough to have a roof over my head.

So finally an ad came in the paper for this fourplex...basement 1 bedroom suite:

$600/mo $600 DD for 1 bedroom including heat and water. Built in 1970. Comes with stove/fridge...washer and drier shared between the four units.

Hope it works out. I'm sure sick of waiting, and I don't want to move in the winter!

We have a small college...but they are definitely not the reason for the vacancy rate.

Pretty decent...cupboards are pretty old and lame, and the bathroom light is operated by a string...otherwise its been renovated and nice for the most part.
