Can't wait. Myself and my four best girlfriends (been friends since HS) are going to Las Vegas, leaving Weds night and returning Monday morning. (yeah, it's gonna be hellish trying to go to work that day, but we save a packet of money this way.) Now I know it wont be hard to keep ourselves entertained there, but I was wondering if anyone here had done anything particularly cool there, namely certain bars, clubs, restaurants, activities. It'd be cool to see what you guys did and experienced, and hopefully we can try to hit up some of the stuff that you guys enjoyed. We're booked to see a Cirque du Soleil show already...the Zumanity one...apparently it's meant to be raunchy. We'll see though, I hope it's not too wierd!
 
definately hit up the palms. when we went, we never made it - supposed to be one of the best spots in vegas at night....

man. i want to go on vacation....

cool. thanks. we also thought about going to Hoover Dam or the Grand Canyon for a day, but got mixed reports about how far away the canyon was. Some people just thought it was too far.

If you have the extra money, take a helicopter tour. A 25 minute tour of the strip at night is $50 or something. Not too bad for the experience. You can drop $50 at a table in a heartbeat.

If you got see HOOVER DAM, take the Helicopter ride there and back. The views (and pics) are MUCH better.

 
hoover dam you can maybe pull off, but its a day trip.

dont bother with the grand canyon this time of year, temperatures are in the 40 degree range right now.

buffets are like 25 each.. the hotdog is 1.50

Thanks guys! The helicopter ride is an amazing idea! I don't think $50 is all that bad either; I wouldn't mind seeing the strip at night or the hoover dam. Richard and Phreak, good food suggestions too. I LOVE thai food, so that's a winner and so is that chili cheese dog. haha, i feel the heartburn already!
 
Palms opened 3 years ago this month.

The advertised intention was to be the newest/best hot nightspot in town.

5 minutes by car from the strip. Walking distance if you choose to.
 
remember whatever you do in Vegas stays in Vegas so go on a rampage and kill everyone!! 😉

my friends and I are planning a trip there maybe mid February.
