So like a month ago I was looking at the "Winter Session", for my school, because I figured that I could have an easier spring session if took a class over this month break. Also Vermont is pretty damn cold right now, and a break is needed. I signed up for "Sitcom in America", in which the class goes to LA for a week.

Heres the breakdown of what is set in stone

-Going to a taping of Joey (going to be extras)
-Going to either Disney/Univeral Studio's/ Santa Monica (student choice)

I was also thinking of going to a taping of the Price is Right (maybe could be a contestant :p)

Entire class is going to a taping on 1-11. Hope someone from our group gets choosen

Is there anything else that we should do? There is about 10-11 of us + professor, 5 girls, 5 guys. Any ATOTers want to meet up?

You don't really need to go to Santa Monica. Go to Venice Boardwalk, drive around Malibu, visit the Getty (if you're into that stuff), and go clubbing.

On the 11th we are going on a cheesy tour of Hollywood (fine by me), then dinner with Todd Stevens, a producer on Joey I believe. They are also giving us $50 a day for food FTW.

What kind of stuff do you guys like? I mean, in L.A. you can pretty much find anything and everything. Are you looking for restaruant recommendations? Clubs? Beaches? Shopping? Movie Theaters? This is too generic of a question.

How are you getting around? DO you have a car? Does it need to be walking distance? Where are you staying?

Yeah, we need these details... LA is too friggin big. I know the place like the back of my hand after living there for 20 years (luckily I escaped some time ago). Let me/us know what you want to do, where you will be (generally) and what transportation is available. Will you have any solo time or is it only group time?

If you get picked on the price is right, remember to bid $1 more than the person next to you. Piss them off.

TV tapings are the most boring things to watch. We only did it because they paid us to watch it (this was for a club event in High School and we did it as a fundraiser). Sure you get to see stars live but its so freakin boring because they keep doing retakes and it just isn't funny anymore the 3rd or 4th time and its all forced laughters. If anything, try to go on the Price is Right, you might win something.

You can go to 3rd St. Promenade, Beverly Center, Venice Beach, Hollywood and Highland, The Grove. Plenty of places plus its great weather right now...about 80F

HAHA might have to do that. I was also going to do a bid of "1337" :p

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Better weather, less crowded and just as many things to do.

Actually that's more towards the Sierra Nevada's. CA is almost as big as the Eastern Seaboard, a lot of diversity in the population and the geographics.

Yea, but the Sierra Nevada isn't far from NorCal. Only hour or two drive to great snow.

hell no. i've lived in both places, and it's less insane in norcal. a LOT less people.

bay area for life.

btw for the price is right: if you have a large group, let them know in advance. they usually try to guarantee at least one person from the group will get on the show, because they love to pan to shots of the group cheering and helping the contestant out. even better if you dress similarly.
