Going to Hooters for saftey of the kids

This couple came into my store with their 7 year old and tried to steal a phone, kind of pathetic.

kids these days....not getting very good 'role' models

I fail to see what the big deal is.

It's not like they went to a strip club, what restaurant DOESN'T have waitresses that capitalize on their looks to get tips?

Yes, it was inappropriate, but (if you believe the Principal), there were extenuating circumstances. What a cool principal!

Women like that need to lighten up. She is going to protect her child soo much, that that poor girl will be shocked by the real world, and not able top rationally deal with real world issues. stuff like that is ghey.

She found out when her daughter had pictures from the trip developed, including a photograph of an eighth-grade boy standing on a chair while Hooters waitresses danced and sang "Happy Birthday."

Best Birthday for an eighth-grade boy Evar!

ok, lemme get this straight...

we are constantly bombarded with
US test scores falling
quality of education deteriorating
Asian education presents superior graduates
majority of high school graduates do not read at a 6th grade level

AND THIS IS WHAT PARENTS ARE PISSED ABOUT!!!!

ok, just had to vent.

When you are raising a girl and you realize that our society mainly values women for youth, beauty, and hooters... you might feel differently, too.

Me, I'm just letting my girls know that just because the majority of males mostly just care about how hot they are and will rate them according to their sexual desirability, DOESN'T mean that they have to accept that image for themselves.

As for this particular case... I am not sure I would make a big deal of it myself. You can't really fight the system, but more power to that mom if she wants to try.

I will keep busy teaching girls to work on developing their intelligence and skills and being true to themselves rather than becoming slaves to the idea that their value is based on how much a guy wants them. Works for me.

Yes, but everyone leaves this point out:

Most of the restaurants in the area were located on the other side of a four-lane road from the hotel where the group was staying. Hooters was the only restaurant within walking distance that was inexpensive and could accommodate the 26 students, he said. Five other school groups experienced the same problem and dined at Hooters, he said.

LOL! That's quite amusing.

It isn't a big deal though. Who cares? They were clothed.

That makes absolutely no sense unless "6th grade level" is completely arbitrary and has nothing to do with the reading level of 6th graders, or kids actually get worse at reading between 6th grade and high school graduation.

a bunch of full up restaurants and a busy 4 lane highway and a nice hooters right next to the place... i wish i could say, "bitch shut your trap" to that woman.

Right, which is why I probably wouldn't have made a big deal of it myself.

Now, if there had been a Cracker Barrel or something similar next to the Hooters and they STILL went to Hooters, I'd have something to say about it. But it sounds to me like there wasn't much of a choice.

The mom just needs to look at this as a teaching moment for her daughter. She should just go ahead and tell her now that the majority of guys see her as a peice of meat or fapping material because of her sex and that she should try to find a guy who is actually interested in who she is, not just what she looks like.

Yup, it's a teachable moment! 😉

Of course, 7th- and 8th-graders know nothing about boobies and sex, right? 🙂

Not sure what the big deal is. I took my 8-year-old brother to Milestone's with super hot (bleached) blonde waitresses dressed up very classy. Not sure how much different this would be from taking him to Hooters with waitresses in tight T-shirts.

Well, maybe there is a difference when he's 8, but when he's 13? Hooters food sucks any ways. 🙂

havent been to high school lately, have you? Piss poor reading quality there...the few smart ones are the ones that read out loud, and when the others have to read, it takes 10 minutes to get through a paragraph. The quality of education is going down the tubes, because parents leave it up to the schools to do it all, and the schools need the parents help more and more with the lower 25% of college classes going into teaching now. Sad really.

My point is, if we're constantly being told these types of things, why do parents only get concerned about stupid things like this?

Not to mention that if 8th grade girls don't yet know how much of the world sees them, they have already been sheltered far too long.

Now, if there had been a Cracker Barrel or something similar next to the Hooters and they STILL went to Hooters, I'd have something to say about it. But it sounds to me like there wasn't much of a choice.
Exactly!

Going to Hooters is better than having 26 kids try to run across a four lane highway.

Haha! "fapping material", from you Isla that just sounds funny... 😉

True of course, but still funny...

Yup, it's a teachable moment! 😉
An afterschool special! 😀
