Going to get opteron 165 tonight

I decided to get the Opteron 165 tonight because of the steppings coming out for it have been good on overclocks. The thing is though what would i need in order for it to work on my comp. I kno i need the current bios for my motherboard, I also know i need drivers for it but i dont know where to get it from. Any help appreciated please thank you.

Plug it in and let windows reconfigure itself for a multi cpu config. Then the dual core hotfix from AMD can be installed if you wish.

This page has all of the files you'll need to download: link. Well, unless you decide you also want to download the Windows dual-core hotfix, that is.

People say the AMD dual-core fix is the same thing as what MS offers if you call them. I don't know if that's actually true.

Thanks for all the replies guys, these files will all work with the opteron correct? even though it says X2

Yeah, that's just another of AMD's oversites. Both the driver and the optimizer are the same for both X2's and Opterons. They just haven't edited their download page to reflect that, and it seems that they never will.
