Going to Florence Oregon

silverpig

Lifer
The g/f and I are planning on taking a trip down to the Oregon coast for the Easter long weekend. Neither of us have ever been before and I need a bit of advice. Most of the people I've talked to who have gone already have said the Florence area is our best bet, so that's what I'm thinking right now. We're planning on camping and basically just want a good spot that's near-ish to the beach. Dune-buggys would be awesome too.

I know there's a lot of places around there but if anyone can recommend anything specific, it'd be a great help.

Thanks.

My wife and I were in Waldport/Newport last summer. We had a nice time. There is a nice little aquarium in Newport (and Rouge Brewers) but I know nothing of Florence.

Driving from the North to south Oregon Coast: Hit Lincoln City / Depot Bay / Newport .... If you start at the very top of the coast ... hit up Astoria first . Florence is pretty laid back nice beaches for long walks. At Lincoln City and Newport have great kite flying there. When in Newport you have to eat lunch or dinner at :

Mo's

Have fun !

Ocean in Oregon is COLD, though. Water is never really swimmable, so keep that in mind.

Oh, plus, if you aren't from around here... 😛
