Going to Europe...what kind of luggage should I take?

Scarpozzi

Lifer
I'm going to Europe in 3 weeks and am getting ready to pack for the trip. I have a bunch of backpacks and duffle bags, etc... I'm wondering if I should go out and purchase a large backpack to make it easier to carry my things through airports, railway stations, etc... I'll be travelling by bus and train when I get there. I plan on flying into Milan, travelling around and flying out of either Paris or London 2 weeks later.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good travel pack that I can fit all my souveniers, clothes, etc in? Thanks,

Edit
Travelling with a big bag is very cumbersome, especially by train and bus. Do you have a back up plan if your bag gets stolen?

something w/ wheels...and big.

I went to korea with 2 suitcases, and had so much gifts to buy that I had to buy another suit case there.

Whatever you do, DONT GET CHEAP LUGGAGE.... Now, im not talking about super expensive stuff, but stay away from those cheap walmart/target nightmares...

Get something at least 1500 balistic nylon with big rollerblade style wheels.... You can usually find a good set of Atlantic/Travelpro/Delsey at Macys... Macys (well Burdines down here), usually has them between 40-60% off... I dunno if its considered a sale when they always seem to be that percentage off, but anyways 🙂

I personally use the Atlantic Infinity LX series (which i bought last year) and love it... I spent 6 months in europe with cheap luggage 2 years ago and it was a NIGHTMARE. After a while, i ended up leaving my luggage in my flat and travelled with just a backpack since the friggen wheels would lock up or tip over....
