Going to do a LOTRO "Let's Play"; what should the character be?

Yup, I'm going to do a "Let's Play" of an MMORPG, from start to finish and try to do it as a completionist play through. For those who have played it, what should the race/class combination be?

Pick whatever looks interesting to you. I enjoyed the Minstrel in LOTRO but it is a very group oriented class.

I've played LOTRO quite a bit already but have never made it to the "end game". I'm a Lifetime Subscriber and kind of want to try doing the completionist run; finishing every deed in every zone, etc. The task ahead of me is a daunting one :|

You playing solo? I found Elven Archer to be the easiest to solo with, but I can really only comment on the original classes (I played them all). I have not tried the RuneKeeper and the Hamster class, or whatever the other new one was.

I think Lupi still plays a lot, so maybe he will chime in.

Yeah, good luck. I'm a lifer as well but I always get bored when I get to the places like Angmar and all that, when the lands get all dark and dour. I prefer the livelier, fresher areas on the map. So I always end up quitting before I even hit 40 (I think I had one level 46 or 47 guy).

Edit: I did kind of like the undead area. I can't remember what it's called now.

Forochel and Misty Mountains are great Angmar alternatives; Forochel is nice and snowy and MM is green :D

Yeah I liked grinding for the Misty Mountain metal, it was nice up there, but I think my other problem is it all became too hard to play solo.

If you mean like in, say, 2008, then I fully agree.
If not - jesus dude :p The game is so oversimplified it feels like singleplayer for 5 years old, and it's part of the reason I finally quit before last xmas.

I felt that way for the first thirty levels or so, but after that it was a slog. :\

I think there was a bunch of Goblin stuff I couldn't clear in the Misty Mountains. It's been a while though. :hmm:

Looks like twitch.tv's min upload speed is 1mbit so I might be OK...

Would you prefer a live streaming a-la twitch.tv or watching afterwards like on Youtube? Or should I stream on twitch.tv then upload to Youtube? :)

I went through goblin mines after a break, was probably a good 5 levels or so above the level norm and managed to do most of it. Did take some patience as most of those mobs are marked as elites, so if you screw up and let other groups to get aggroed while still dealing with the current one you'd end up screwed.

The game is generally super easy, with some specific exceptions in every zone. In MM, you probably had some serious problems with the Goblin Town. That's one bitch of a place to solo, and it had already been made easier at some point in past :p It's still a MMO after all, and somewhere deep inside you are still half expected not to solo all the time :D But these days, finding anyone anywhere outside of the starting area or where endgame takes place, good luck :(

It's really so much more better to have a few people to play the thing with, or at least being able to talk to some.

Yeah that's it, Goblin Town. Such a pain in the butt.

In beta I played with others all the time and at launch I was even in a great casual guild which was a tonne of fun, but it kind of disintegrated prior to end game and after that I was stuck pretty much playing solo. Unfortunately you are right now, by the time you get to the point where you actually need help, it's impossible to find it.

Too bad most people from here seem to be from the U.S. I play on Snowbourn, which is one of the "transferred" EU servers, so can't help you there.
