so I will be taking my parents in law to colorado for 3 to 4 days. what are some good attractions? keep in mind this will be late november, so might be a bit cold.

any good attractions?

Where in Colorado are you going to be?

We got 300 days of sunshine a year...some of them are quite cold! 🙂

I'd suggest the standard stuff...Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. Air Force Academy is out there as well as Cave of the Winds and Seven Falls (which might possibly be frozen by November).

Red Rocks is out west, along with the Coors Brewery and Boulder (if you like hanging with the college kids and the hippies).

Other than that, within town is the mint, 16th St Mall, or you can catch a Broncos or Avs game at Invesco Field or Pepsi Center.

For yourself, you can go down to Lodo and catch up on the nightlife out there. The ski hills just opened up this past weekend so you could ski one of the local mountains or head out to Vail or Aspen if you're feeling real ambitious or got plenty of $$$ to spend.

Where are you planning on staying in Colorado?

16th street mall is nice to walk down and grab some coffee and lunch. And if you go to 16th street you can see some of the huge art pieces around the convention center and maybe go to the Denver Art Museum (I don't know if the titanium skinned expansion will be open though). There might not be many other people out if the weather is too cold. A Broncos/Avs/Nuggets game is definitely something fun to do (going to a nuggets game isn't too expensive and much better than watching them on TV).

There's gambling up in Blackhawk and Central City. Most of the nature stuff is in Colorado Springs (Garden of the Gods, etc, what syee had mentioned). Red Rocks Ampitheater is about 15 minutes west of Denver. Vail and Aspen are nice ski resorts. Winter Park is good. Loveland isn't bad and close (about an hour drive) to Denver if you don't want to fly or drive up to Aspen.

Lookout mountain near Denver shows a pretty good view of the city. Gold Camp Road shows a pretty good view of Colorado Springs.

i'll add more as i think of 'em.

Oh...yea...Pikes Peak could be another place you could go to. It's one of the 10 14,000+ ft peaks we got here. You can drive up or take the cog railway up there. I'm not sure if it runs at this time of the year or not. (Last time I was up there was in the middle of summer, and it got quite cold up there).

If you're not used to the altitude, you might be in for a bit of a shocker! 🙂 (think headaches and blue fingertips!)

EDIT: Just noticed you said parents in law...do you like your parents in laws? I could suggest some other places as well...in the event you don't like them. 🙂

If you get a chance, go through my hometown of Durango, then go through Silverton, Pergatory, some of the prettiest country and mountains this country has to offer
