Hey guys, quick question. I am heading to Chicago on Fri July 26, and I am trying to figure out what to do that day. Any ideas on anything I just HAVE to check out while I am there? Any suggestions would be great, well, most suggestions would be great.

try this

Argh..i just lost my entire post for whatever key combo i just flicked, BUT...short story: We went to North Beach (huge beach in Chicago), then ate at this mexi-fajita restaurant that was delicious, then we went to Second City Comedy Club. The show was amazing and you MUST GO!!! Tickets were $17/per person i think (doesn't include meals...you can get beer and small appetizers) and the current show playing is "Thank heaven it's not 7/11". My gf and i were supposed to go back to Chicago August 10th for the Our Lady Peace peace concert, but we broke up last night :((

Go to Timothy O'Toole's Pub Chicago and drink pint after pint of Guinness. At least, thats what I do when I go to Chicago. There is lots of stuff to do downtown. Head for Michigan Ave. Navy Pier is kinda neat too.

Stupid?! Hmmph.

It's a marvel of engineering and architecture :D

Here is my standard (lot's of people coming to Chicago lately huh?) tourism info...

Nav Pier is fun, drinks, food, giant ferris wheel, boat rides. North Beach is a hip beach, Lincoln Park is where you go people watch and shop, eat, see art films, hang out. Lincoln Park Zoo is free and really nice.

Michigan Avenue is home to all the fabulous stores if you're into that, and you can see the Sears Tower there :p

You might want to check out this outside photography exibit that I saw when I was there last month. I don't really remember exactly where it was, but it was downtown. It had 100 pictures that were taken from all over the world.

Yes! Second City is amazing. You should definely go - next time I am in Chicago I will defintely go back there. I also saw the Blue Men (From the Pentium commercial), so that is available there... but eh, I didnt like it as much as others. It was defintely different, so you should go for that.

I went with my senior class... so we went to stupid things like the muesuems.... they were dumb. The acquirium was descent if you dont get to see that type of stuff often, they have a cool dolphin show.

The sears tower is expensive.. if you go, make sure it is a clear day otherwise you cant see very far at all.

go to Joe's on Weed. Great bar.

(Weed as in Weed St., not as in marijuana :) )

The stupid John Hancock tower. It has a better view of the lake and you can see to Indiana from up there.

Fer crying out loud, just take a walk downtown. It's an awesome city.
