My buddy and I had some extra plane tickets so we figured we'd hang around Chicago for a few days. He's never been there.. Last time I was there I was a teenager.

So.. definitely we're going to a Cubs game and MOSI.. We might also go to a White Sox game..

What else should we do?

I'd like to go to a nice steakhouse but not a ridiculous one.. like.. $50/person would be okay. I dunno any.. I heard 'Chop House' but it looks expensive..

Also, we pretty much decided we're gonna go to the first hole in the wall deep dish pizza place we find..

We'll probby go in the Hancock or Sears Tower..

We're not planning on renting a car.. just staying in a downtown Marriott that is hopefully within Subway/walking distance..

Am I totally forgetting one of the major things to do in Chicago?

Night life is cool.. but we're not interested in the kind of place that tries to make you feel like you need to spend $500 to impress anyone. Any really awesome hole-in-the-wall bars - especially beer bars - would be cool..

Midpriced steak would be Weber Grill, higher end would be Mortons.

If he's traveling, why would he want to go to a chain restaurant? That makes no sense to me.

Go to Hugo's Frog Bar, very nice. Good service...good steaks. It was about $130 between two of us when I went there in November but that's w appetizers and drinks.

Cubs fans are annoying, go and support a team that doesn't have thousands of douche bags in the stands. And your Marriott should be withing a couple blocks of the Red line

Chop House is the Peter Lugers(NY)/House of Prime Rib(SF) of Chicago. Definitely worth the trip and priced consistently with all other premium steak places.

I agree with this.

Blue Frog is a nice hole in the wall bar, on Lasalle at Huron. Just watch out for karaoke, unless you're into that sort of thing.
