Going to buy Xbox or PS2, I havent decided yet...

All the way down here, and no mention of a modchip. A modded xbox kicks @ss. A ps2 can play ps1 games, but a modded xbox can play arcade, nes, snes, n64, genesis, etc. You can run linux, watch divx movies, play mp3's. The possibilities expand all the time.

I wouldn't recomend a modchip if you do intend to use xbox live though. MS is pretty good about catching those that try.

Basically everything you can do a PC. All those emulator games you list have been available for PCs for a long long long time. If someone is posting on this forum, I usually make it a safe assumption that they have a PC unless they state otherwise.

Edit: PS2 is quickly taking over the dreamcasts role of a system that has many many good and CHEAP games. I'm talking 7 dollars for a psx game and most ps2 titles that are old now are only 19.99.

I would pick PS2, gran tourismo 3, virtua fighter 4, devil may cry, and twisted metal black are all greatest hits, can be found really cheap and are all great games. Plus rpgs like Suikoden 3 and FFX, kingdom hearts. There's not really much on xbox that I would want to play.

Went by Funcoland in Hickory, nc yesterday. The guy in there was very helpful showed me some of the things about xbox and ps2. 98% sure xbox is the way im going. Will probably pick one up this weekend. Whats the best football game for xbox. He showed me NFL Fever 2003 because I mentioned I liked the fast pace of NFL blitz for my playstation but it was very unreal. He said the graphics were pretty awesome too, and it was a fairly easy game to play.

Seriously though, if you're into RPGs or Vice City, I'd get a PS2. For all other purposes, it appears the X-box is the only way to go.

Fever 2003 is the most arcade-like of the football games available. The best football game IMHO is EA's NCAA 2003. The NFL football kind of depends. Madden is great if you don't have Live...but it is more sim than arcade. NFL2K3 is great if you have Live and is more arcade-like than Madden but not as much as Fever.

Blitz is out for XBOX.

Fever is more arcadish and online
NFL 2k3 is more of a sim and also online

i never tried xbox. i used to have gamecube. sold it in three weeks cuz i really wanted to play kingdom hearts! so i got my ps2, and love it.

I finally bit the bullet and went to Funcoland last night. I purchased the Xbox, extra S controller, Crash Bandicot (for my son ) and NFL Fever 2003. Planning on hooking that baby up tonight. Looking to have a busy weekend.
