I am an need of a new comp now and im going to buy it pretty soon. I need a gaming rig for around 2000 bucks. I dont want sli or crossfire, but i do want a good oc'ing mobo. The new dfi crossfire mobo or sapphire xpress 200 mobo should help. I also need a water cooling system that could fit within that bugget. I also need monitor, case, and cpu. I was thinking of getting a dual core cpu becuz i will be having my system for 4+ years. I will be oc'ing so i need a good case with a lot of room, i dont care how heavy it is. For monitor I would like CRT over LCD, but if you can find me a good lcd 19" that would be great. Im not a big fan of wide screen so please dont recommend me any of the dell lcd's. I will be getting the Saitek Eclipse keyboard, Razer Diamondback mouse, Samsung Spinpoint SP2504C Sata2 Hard Drive, and BenQ DW 1640. Please help me out becuz i cant wait till this is done and then i get it!

How well would the eVGA motherboard oc? I haven't heard anything about it and he says he wants a good oc'n board.

Hi ive been gone for a couple days just gaming havent paid attention my topic. But thanks for the ideas.
I am thinking of getting this, ( remember i will be oc'ing)

Amd Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Manchester ($484)/ X2 3800+ Manchester ($410)
Koolance PC3-736BK ($592), comes with Lian Li V2000B and Koolance water cooling thing
BenQ DW 1640B ($44)
PCP & C TC 510 Express 510W ($218)
Samsung Spinpoint SP2504C 250 Gig ($119)
OCZ PC-4000 VX ($190) or OCZ Platinum Revision 2 ($169)
eVGA GeForce 7800 GT ($419)

What do you guys think?

X2 3800+..
WTFBBQOMG.. Waste of money.. Invest it in a *real* watercooling system.
Okay.
Nice and quiet.
2GB would be more helpful for the future and BF2-like games.

The eVGA board would be okay but the DFI would be better for overclocking.

Yea im just waiting to see if i can get an xpress 200 mobo, the dfi lanparty rd-480 crossfire mobo seems awesome. Kensai, can you gived me some links or something to water cooling options. The Koolance one is too expensive. I want the Lian Li V2000B case to go with the water cooling i want to get. But i need a whole water cooling system, i dont want to oc my video card so i dont need anything for it.

Interesting, well below is a system I'm putting together that costs $1780 before tax, shipping & a OS. Personally, I think this beats out anything that's been mentioned.

Antec Neo Power 480 ATX 12V v2.0 480 Watt Power Supply
MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum Nforce 4 Ultra Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ w/512Mb x2 Cache 90nm 64-Bit Socket 939 CPU
Thermaltake Silent 939 K8 CL-P0200 Cooler
1Gb OCZ DDR PC-3200 Performance CAS 2 (2-3-3-6) Dual Channel(2X512Mb)
1Gb OCZ DDR PC-3200 Performance CAS 2 (2-3-3-6) Dual Channel (2X512Mb)
Leadtek WinFast PX7800GT Extreme TDH 256Mb GDDR3 VIVO PCI-e Video
Maxtor MaxLine III 300Gb 7200rpm SATA w/NCQ Hard Drive 7L300S0
NEC 16X Double Layer DVD+RW Drive, ND-3520A BG
NEC 16X Double Layer DVD+RW Drive, ND-3520A BG
Teac 1.44Mb Floppy Drive
BlueGears HAD Digital X-Mystique 7.1 Gold 8 24-Bit PCI Audio Card
CaseEdge 3GTN-152 Mid-Tower ATX Case
USR 56K V.92 Internal PCI Performance Pro USR5610B Fax Modem
Viewsonic ViewMate USB Keyboard KU-206
Viewsonic ViewMate USB Wireless Optical Mouse MW206

Sure, it doesn't have a SUPER fast processor, but it's the best processor for the $$ right now and processors are always a cinch to upgrade later. Water cooling is a waste at this point and highly overclocking is foolish. Do you use your computer or do you play with your computer?

I probably have some differing tastes than most so I could see you swapping out that SoundCard for a typical Audigy 2 type board and saving $50. The modem may also throw some of you off, but I use this machine for business as well so a good modem can come in handy for faxing, etc. But again, knock that out and save another $60-70. You may also want to step up to some better RAM, but personally I think that RAM rocks for the price and the fact you'd be getting 2Gb is sweet.
