I have this brand, but the model right before this one. the one i have now is discontinued, since this model took over. Its pretty good, i like it alot. the glass seems to be durable, but heavy.

I think I know the model you have, you got the smaller one ?? I need the extra room though, and for $30 more its not a bad deal

I had that exact desk. You better not be wanting to put anything but an LCD on that. Much sagging in the desk area with my 17" and even worse with my 19"

Looks alright, you'd definiately need a mouse pad for an optical mouse and I dont know how well that would hold a heavy CRT.. also it would be a pain to keep the glass clean.

Well in the store I put nearly my whole weight on it . LOL and it didnt seem to flimsy and it didnt seem to sag then. The crt weighs nowhere near the weight I put on it, I hope it works out good. If not then I guess ill buy a lcd to go with it, might not be to great for games but I played games on the new samsung one and it seemed just as good if not better looking then my crt.

I definitly need it because im redoing the entire room with glass type furniture, and throwing out all the old time wooden junk .. LOL

the best!! soo durable...freakin durable..my desk right now is very messy..i ahve to clean it soon..but anyways, this thing is easy to clean, super ultra duper crazy insane durable...and w/ a staples coupon..why not?.....best computer desk of all time period :)

i saw those glass desks....i highly doubt it was going to hold my 100 pound crt for long.......and i have wires everywhere....and i like something that i don't want to clean everday after i put my head down on or eat in front of on........and a desk that gives me easy access to all computer components.....i saw the glass desk as well, but i wasn't too impressed w/ it.....it felt too flimsy and weak for my tastes...the zline one i have takes a beating from me everyday....hehehe ...

and it diudn't have lotsa space to put junk on.... and took up too much space at the same time..which is bad...

Woa Dan, I may end up getting a desk like that after looking at the picture :). Mine is way too big and I barely use half of it.

I bought my gf that desk. She likes it. Cluttered as could be though.

Here is the link I was looking at. I really want a nice compact and solid desk. This looks like one, but it also looks like a possible rip off on the price.

http://www.anthro.com/PromotionDetails.asp?PromotionID=203[/q

Just the design (unless they used quality materials which most bulk produced furniture stuff really isn't). Nice stuff that is designed well and uses better material is always more pricey then run of the mill bulk produced stuff. You buy some prestige, quality and design with *nicer* stuff.

and its alittle cheaper.

This desk was only 79 dollars during memorial day. It was a great buy then....quality glass, tempered....can support over 100 lbs. Fine for all but the largest CRTs.

What happened to the other glass desk series Staples had? It was a lot more expensive...like $199 per piece except the corner which was like $99

You are thinking of the z-line desk

staples has the computer desk and main desk on sale now for $149 each and there is a link to the corner for $49

I've got the one from the first best buy link over this last weekend, and its been great so far. I have a 19" CRT on one side and a 17"crt on the middle section. Inside the box a small slip paper said the maximum weight for the longer sides is 60 lbs per desk and 40 lbs for the corner dealy. let me know if you have any other questions. As for the messy cables, get a few velcro tie wraps and tie your cables down to the support bars.
