Don't want to start an arguement about DS/PS/Etc.. He is only 4 so we are going to get him a Gameboy Advanced for christmas.. Can anyone give me any tips? I heard that some have a backlight, some dont... Wondering if any are better than any others, is there any that are "hackable" or anything like that?

Get the GBA SP, that's the one with the backlight. Other than that, the only "hackable" stuff I've seen is buying a large ROM storage cartridge for them and loading it up with games so you have one big cartridge with all your games rather than all of your legally purchased ones floating around and getting lost. I know I have a tendency to lose my carts for mine.

How do I copy my legally purchased carts to the flash card, other than the obvious alternative...? Remember he is 4, so backing those games up is a priority...

Agreed. Just get him a GBA SP if you want to get him any of the varieties. It's worth it to get the backlight.

<----- stuck with the old GBA.. 🙁

why not just get an old gameboy color and a bunch of games for like a dollar each. then who cares if he flushes them down the toilet.

another vote for an SP.

my 5 year old plays with both. the non-SP was mine and the SP he got from a friend for christmas.
