I'll be in town for some training. Wife is coming with me and has to fend for herself during the day. We're staying downtown at the "La Grande Sutton Hote".

We'll be in the area Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights. Any suggestions for restaurants or bars that we should try and hit? Try and keep it under $50 a plate :)

We're big on seafood, chinese, sushi...and my wife is a martini fiend.

Thanks!

Vancouver WA? Who the hell would want to go there?

;)

I have been many times and its a great city, do yourself a favor and stay away from east hastings. As for food, we found holes in the wall, didnt have a bad meal. Keithtalent is from there, he will probably chime in.

*edit*

As for bars, we stuck to the Granville/Robson area.

We're actually flying into Seattle on Saturday night and then driving up to Vancouver on Sunday...We're staying downtown in Seattle on Saturday.

Going to try and hit the Music Experience before we leave Seattle.

If you are staying at a "Boutique Hotel" shoot me a pm and let me know which one, I only ask because my SO is a manager at one and you could get some free wine or something.

The EMP is pretty fun, the whole Seattle center is entertaining. You can take the SLUT to the Seattle Center if you are staying near the heart of downtown.

(South Lake Union Transit) ;)

You'll find Sushi places on every corner of every street. As Buck mentioned, Granville Island and Robson St have tons of great places to eat.

Music Experience wasn't that great really.

I would say when you're in Vancouver to come over to the island for a bit, but just a car is like $60 one way on the ferries, friggen waste of money.

If you want a nice seafood place definitely check out a place called Joe Fortes. It's just off Robson street at Thurlow I believe. They have a big oyster bar there with like 15-20 different kinds of oysters. The food is really good too, huge wine selection (although it's obviously marked up). You will probably need a reservation if you want to walk in and eat. If you don't mind sitting in the bar for 30-45 minutes for a table then just walk in. It's not cheap but there are some good deals; entrees run from $20 to $50 probably.

OH! I know what you should do for Sunday night. Walk down to Yaletown and go to a place called the Yaletown Brewhouse Pub. Yaletown is a former shipping/warehouse district that has been turned into a trendy boutique neighbourhood. The pub is a really great restaurant where they brew their beer on premises.. Sundays they have a pizza and beer special. You get a pizza for $7, and a beer is $3.50. If pizza isn't your thing, the head chef is Asian and they have a ton of Asian food. They have a deep-fried chocolate cake for dessert you can have if you're feeling adventurous. If you're showing up a bit later on Sunday evening you'll benefit from a reservation, although if it's just the two of you, the wait won't be long.
