Going the generic/non-genuine route for a laptop battery

Looking to get a new battery for my old Dell laptop. Needless to say, Dell's prices are ridiculous, so I'm looking at other options (i.e. mostly eBay).

Anything to look for to increase the odds that the battery won't give my system bad juice? I figure I should stick to North American sellers with lots of sales and very good reputation, but aside from that, any advice would be appreciated.

Anyone? I'd just get a Dell battery even at the insane price, but they don't offer 9-cell options for my laptop. I don't want to have to settle for a 6-cell.

Go to your nearest Batteries Plus and see what is available for your Dell (model not specified.)
