Damm, you're bringing up very fond memories.
I've been(or have been) going to Keystone for 8 yrs straight until last yr when my buddy skipped it because he bought a pool).
While alot of avid skiers prefered Breckinridge and Vail, we original liked it because of the night skiing.
If you're a decent boarder, you need to hit the back bowls.
Keystone have 3 seperate mountains and the back is awesome.
The problem is that you are going to early in the yr so there won't be alot of snow and alot of trails won't be open.
The biggest problem with Keystone is that they get the least amount of snow among all the big resorts.
Also, since you're going so early in the season, night skiing might not be open or they will only be available only on the weekend.
Speaking of night skiing, its what really attract us at the beginning but after going for so many year, night skiing is no longer a "criteria" for us.
Its not that much fun after you've been through it a few times.
Hard to see so you've got to really becareful of what you're doing and that takes the fun out of it.
Especially if there isn't enough snow, one little slip and it hurt worst than hell.
There is no night life in Keystone. If you wanted a nightlife, should have gone to Brecken or Vail.
I mean you can always find a bar and just have some beer.
Keystone has IMHO the best Mexican restaurant anywhere.
Its called Mi Casa Su Casa. Right next to Keystone. Just awesome food and the best chip and salsa anywhere.
Every trip to Keystone, we've eaten there at least 3 times per trip.
Overall, Keystone is a pretty decent place.
I'm sure Vail and others and better partly because they get more snow but we've become quite attached to the place since we've been there so many times.
This year, we will probably go to Winter Park....cheaper and they get alot more snow.
Any other question, LMK.
