My girlfriend is an awesome skiier (she was an instructor for a while) and this winter I am spending over a week skiing in north Idaho with her. I did it last year as well and it was a blast. I was using her brother's old gear most of the time, except for the skis and boots which I rented. Some of the stuff was kind of worn out, so I figured this year I would get some of my own gear.
I don't want to get skis or boots yet, just some of the peripheral items. I was looking at goggles, and will probably get some gloves and maybe even some snow pants. I have a decent EMS jacket that did the job fine last year.
Basically I am looking for some recommendations on brands to look out for. I've spent the most time checking out goggles, and found that Spy Optic (Spy Optic and Review) had the highest rated model. The orbit looks cool but is expensive, but I think that comes with the territory. Gloves I haven't really searched for yet. Pants I quickly looked at and saw prices from $130 to $500 (Store), which is a big range. Is there anything specific to look for, and is there a big difference between the expensive model and cheaper ones?
