Going passive cooling. Need suggestions

Hi All,
I am planning to go passive cooling on myX2-4400. I have a a8n-sli deluxe mobo.
I have two questions:

1. Can I cool my x2 passive with the Scythe Ninja or Infinity.
2. Will any of these two fit easily on my mobo and my case

My case is:
COOLER MASTER Centurion

I think fans on my case do a pretty good job of moving air. Let me know what you think.
Thanks.

I can attest to the fact that the Ninja fit in that case on my intel mobo. The ninja was designed for passive use, the infinity was not.

the fins on the infinity were made for airflow while the Ninja's are spaced out for passive cooling.
I'd take the Ninja.

Scythe heatsinks are not made for fanless operation. What you should be looking at is the Thermalright HR-01.

Nonsense. The Ninja works fine passively as long as your system has reasonable airflow. I'm using one on my x2 3800+ overclocked to 2.4GHz. My case has a low RPM 120mm fan in the rear and the CPU runs cool enough. Won't win any awards and won't run below ambient, but IMO keeps it about as cool as the stock (non-heatpipe) HSF with "Smart Fan" running.

Why have passive cooling on your CPU but lots of fans in your case? A fan is a fan, so long as your using them you might as well put one on your CPU's heatsink.

I have an 80mm and 120mm fan on the cpu. My main concern is noise. I am trying to avoid another fan if possible. Moreover, I may not push my system that much. The stock cpu fan (in qfan) mode is still too loude for me.

I only have one case fan and that is currently a Cooler Master 120mm Silent LED. I didn't need to make my case into a wind tunnel to keep my CPU passively cooled. The biggest noise maker in my system is the 7600GT stock fan, and I plan to take care of that.

Yeah, I have a single Nexus 120mm exhaust fan at 650 rpm and a fanless Ninja, and it works great. Good airflow doesn't mean gale force, just having reasonable clean cable management and a not-too-restrictive exhaust grill.

QFT!

I cut out the rear grill in my case. The Ninja is in close proximity to the 120mm exhaust and PSU fans, so air definately moves through there with minimal fuss.

Thanks a lot guys, I just ordered the Ninja rev B. from the egg. I think they discontinued the original Ninja. I hope I dont have any problems installing it on my mobo.
