So I'm going on vacation, and I need a hotel from Oct 9th to Oct 13th. I was looking in downtown seattle, and all of the places are super-pricey. Is there an area near downtown that is safe, convienent(by car), and inexpensive($50ish?) to stay at?

If you're looking downtown, try the Moore Hotel. It's clean in that somewhat run-down way, funky, gets good reviews and you could make your $50 price-point if you're willing to go European style (shared bath). Only problem is you'll have to pay for parking if you have a car, but this will be the case anywhere downtown.

I've also stayed at the Commodore, in the same neighborhood (which really isn't that bad). I prefer the Moore, but both can be decent as long as you don't have tremendous expectations at that price.

For a step up, try the Camlin, which is a bit nicer, and has a cool bar on the roof. But you're looking at $80 or so.
