Plane Tickets
Passports and Visas

Money
Toothbrush, soap, shaver, comb
Kodak DC4800 Digital Camera that I bought for a price (after rebates) of $305.75 (thanks hot deals)

Anything else that I need?

photocopies of all your needed documents (passport and visas)

Maybe some kind of moneybelt to keep your wallet safe.

Take the receipt for your camera so some overseas customs guy can't claim you bought it somewhere else and owe duty on it. Especially because it's brand-new.

Batteries for the camera? Converters for any electrical stuff you need to plug in? Phone numbers for your credit card company kept separate from your wallet?

I would pickup a universal adapter to plug stuff into the wall that is dual-voltage, if you are heading to a country with 110/220V ;)

A voltage converter. Overseas they use 220 not 110. Don't plug in your electric razor, hairdryer, etc. before making sure it's 110!

Get traveller's checks instead of cash!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get rechargeable batteries for the camera and a voltage converter for the charger. digital cameras eat batteries. How big is your memory card? I am going to Belize later this month and will have an 8MB and 2 48MB - that is more than enough.

Comfortable shoes.

Have you passport number written down in case you lose it.

You didn't mention a suitcase ;)

You always forget something, don't forget to take the people you are traveling with, they might be mad of you forget them.

Your carry-on bag should include a minimum of one day's clothes. Passengers and luggage don't always arrive at the same time.

[Edit] And sunscreen! [/edit]

Ummmmm, I think you're missing a very critical item in your list. RUBBERS!!! ;)
j/k

Rather than take credit cards (potential faurd victim) go get some traveler's checks. I like to use them. Kinda neat. :D

don't know where you're going, but maybe some TP? Oh yeah, and if you are taking your credit cards with you, write the account numbers down somewhere including the phone numbers to call in case they get stolen.

Have fun.

Any perscription meds that you might need.
Check the US travel advisory.
Undergarment money belt. That you can't reach easily.
Convert some currency, you dont want to flash to many U.S. dollars around.
Immodium
Aspirin/Advil
Luggage tags
Alarm clock
Ziplock with a wet facecloth inside
Second pair of glasses
Small sewing kit
