digital cameras and media are fine in the x ray machines, if you have film is 1000 and higher than dont put it in there. they said below 1000 is fine

Air Canada said that I shouldn't check my snowboard unless its in a hard case/rigid patted bag... the bag I have is just a waterproof material.... I can still take it, but I'd have to sign a waiver.

Are baggage handlers really that bad?

lol yes :) don't check ANYTHING that isn't in a hard case. even then there's a good chance they will lose/destroy it.

prvteye2003, i'm sure it has, doesn't mean it was safe, smart, and all that good crap. That didn't answer my question.

Your parts would probably survive (I'd double check with google) as long as they aren't mounted and securely (yet easily accessable so the TSA can get a good look at them) package.

I have a rather large suitcase I was going to put it in, along with my clothes, etc...
