Going old to new 1 Step at a Time

Im pasting this in off topic since there isnt a topic for this

In this topic I'm building my Pc 1 step a time (or paycheck), also try to get the best deals and equipment, here I will take in every advice that is giving and try to take my Gateway 500s to an extream gaming pc. With every journey you need a starting place so I have already ordered a new chassis that i like (cuz i have to look at it) The chassie that i ordered is at diablotek case

So now that I have the Body I need to focus on the mind the mobo(mother board)
now this is easier said than done now i have to chose a processer and among other so I'll set the perameter AMD 64 so that when windows goes from 32 bit to 64 bit it can be up to date also has do have SLI(Scalable Link Interface) so i can always up date to the latest graphix that means PCI express also since im doing this in steps(paycheck) not everone get a head, also if you have Questions and cooment just post them, Second i dont hav a 2nd PC so I will also give a detail of removing the parts from my 500s to a new home with a 550 watt Power Source witch is a mod any one with an alowance can do
also I will post links of my articles of neat hacks i know and upgrades and mods

This will be a community build so Ill take the most reply for as the leader for that product
 
I dont think this should be in general hardware since it will encompass all the topics covered in this site and the case was at my will and tigerdirect was a sh!tty site(yea) but the purpose here is to show the loopholes and expolits of build/ got a better site then suggest it
 
If you want anything even nearing serious replies, do yourself a favor and post in General Hardware.
 
If you're doing this one piece at a time, be prepared not to use your computer for a while... switching from AGP to PCI-E, and switching sockets, and switching RAM will leave you dead in the water for quite a while.

My advice... save your pennies and buy everything all at once when you have enough saved up. You can buy a CPU now... and by the time you've got every other component your CPU will probably be available for less $$ than you paid.
 
no the point was to take polls of the most pop or what peopl wanted to see and it was not going to take me offline Cuz i wuz goin to show other mods to old pc that can be done and it wasnt changing agp to pci as you put but a different board all together first you have to plan b4 you build so next time you try to be a guru at stuff, maybe you should ask a question then making a statement without all the facts and dont worry about me paying for stuff and then have them only degrade cuz I make alot of money and dont have to worry about that cuz i went to school to get my master in computer engineering
also have a small business making computers called DEMon PCs and my company having an article written by PCWorld write now so next time you try to be a guru get the facts
 
If you "make alot of money" then why are you building a PC "1 step a time (or paycheck)". Fat pile of shens.
