I'm glad for family bathrooms, hadnt heard of those. I often wonder what to do with my 4 year old when she has to go pee. I dont want to take her into the mens room, but dont really want to send her alone into the womens room either.

As for a couple without a child using a family bathroom....fvkcing perverts.

Some of you are thinking that more than one set of people are in these family bathrooms. It is setup just like a bathroom in your home. That's it, it has a lock and everything.

Wait, so your telling me your tieing up a bathroom made for families becuase your afraid to go to the john by yourself?

selfish fvcking pervert.

Family bathrooms are for parents and their little kids you tard, not for you and your fiancee.

Also, HTF have some of you never seen family bathrooms before? Live in the sticks or what?

Thats what I was thinking. If I saw a couple go into a family bathroom together, I would immedietly label them as one of those "weird couples" you see sometimes.

I live in NJ... never seen one.

But yeah, OP... get over your fear of dirty public restrooms, it's not going to kill you or give you an STD or anything like that.

The changing room I don't think is an issue, but I really don't get the point of going to the bahtroom together. That's pretty weird.

I'm not going to be as closed minded to call you pervert for it like others, but it's simply unnessicary.

soon you will never see your buddies again without her, never able to go out on your own, and then when you have kids they will think its "normal" :p

I live in NJ... I know at least 2 malls with family bathrooms. You're probably not looking hard enough.

and it's creepy for a couple to go into one of those unless they have children with them.

I didn't know it was allowed for a guy and a girl to go into a dressing room together though. It would've saved me a lot of embarrassment of coming out dressed in something that didn't look nice on me just to show my bf (and anyone else who happens to be nearby) who waits outside of the dressing room. heh.

What is the point of doing these things unless you were doing something questionable? You can't stand being away from your fiance for 5 minutes while she uses the restroom?

Its not that, the family rooms are hardly ever used and are usually cleaner.

that doesn't answer the question. why can't you two piss without the other one there with you? just take turns, for christ sake.

Well I can't say I look really hard for something that I never knew existed until today, but I can tell you that they don't exist at any of the stores I go to the bathroom at. I was merely responding to tfinch2's post that those of us who haven't seen them must live in the sticks or something. Clearly I do not live in the sticks, I live in one of the most densely populated areas of the country.

But yeah, two malls in a state that is known for an overabundance of malls... I must not be looking hard enough.

In what country do these "family bathrooms" exist?

That's the most pea brained idea I've ever heard of.

i've seen and used family bathrooms.. i sometims use them when i'm alone, just cause they're usually cleaner, and they're private..

i'm sure it's not illegal unless you're breaking stuff or leaving a mess... who cares what the other people are thinking..

And from what I gather, its a bathroom for people with kids. And with that in mind, I think that you have no right to go in there, unless you are trying to catch a glimpse of some kid using the can... :disgust:

No wonder people are looking at you weird.

...

I'm guessing you garner some strange looks yourself, what with that helmet your parents must make you wear.

i thought it was stupid at first too, but I think it is a great idea because now if a mom and son or dad and daughter are at a store together, and the child needs to go, they can feel confortable taking the little one to the family bathroom.

I know if i had a little boy, i would NOT want him to go into the mens room on his own, and some women have issues with other women bringing their sons in the ladies room, no matter how young the child is.
