Wow, good luck! I would probably be too chicken to have that done, knowing exactly what they do during the process...EEESH!

Good luck :)

People touching my face gives me the heebiejeebies - I can't imagine someone with a laser gunning for my eyeballs.

congrats on not being a puss like some folks. I've had it done about 2 years ago and it turned out great.

Bart: [rings bell] Flanders is a soft touch. He'll give us the
money for sure.
[Ned answers the door. He's wearing dark glasses and
carrying a cane]
Ned: Jesus? Is that you?
Ralph: Mr. Flanders, you're blinded-ded!
Ned: Oh, yeah. I never should have had that trendy laser
surgery. It was great at first but, you know, at the ten-
year mark your eyes fall out.

I still can see! Still a little blurry and hopefully will be better tomorrow morning. Got checkup tomorrow. It wasn't scary at all and no pain.

I had mine a week ago. -5.25 prescription in both eyes. I see 20/30 now, but my eyes have been pretty dry. This has been affecting the vision. It's not as sharp as with glasses/contacts, but hopefully it'll get better with time.

Where'd you get it done? If you don't mind me asking, how much was it for you?

I got it done with Scott Hyver (49ers' eye doctor) at Santa Clara, CA. It wasn't cheap but I got a 49ers discount since they beat the Raiders. It was $4200 for wavefront Customvue.

Congrats!! Give it about a full week and you should have good vision by than. It actually gets better with time. I had PRK about 5 years ago and went in for an eye exam earlier this week. Still have 20/15 with both eyes. :)

Recommend any brand?

I've been using Refresh Plus Lubricant Eye Drops (single use containers). They do the job.

I had it performed back in 1999. While I'm still glad I had the procedure done, I wasn't one of the typical success stories you so often hear about (and yes, my Dr. was extremely reputable). I had a pretty bad astigmatism going in. My eyesight, while much better than pre-surgery, ended up at about 20/40. I still have to wear contacts, though I can see much clearer when they're out relative to what I could see prior to the surgery.

Keep us updated.
I'm -5.25/-5.50 (for contacts).

If you can get a hold of Restasis (sp?) it is good. That's what I used but I think I had a prescription for it from the doc.

Update: It was so hard to sleep with the protective goggle they provided. I usually sleep on my side and this goggle kind of prevent me from doing that so I tried to sleep on my back the whole night and I barely had any sleep. Hope I will get use to it since I have to wear this for a week!

Wokeup late to checkup due to lack of sleep. Vision seen much better but still not prefect. Drove myself to vision center and everything checked out good. I can read the 20/15 line. The doctor told me that its pretty good and I will still have distortion for couple weeks. The weird thing is I can read the 20/15 line but the street sign driving back still a little blur to me. haha hopefully it clears up in with time.

So far so good! I highly recommend it.

Yeah I have that same problem with sleeping with the goggles on (I sleep on my side as well). I wish I could tell you I've gotten used to it, but I can't :(

Doesn't it suck trying to pry your eyes open long enough to put the drops in during the morning as well? :p
