going from windows ME to windows 98...

Hi, under particular circumstances, i have to go back to windows 98 from ME. I did a clean install of ME so I can't uninstall it. But I want to install 98 over ME. Is this possible without making it end up as a dual-boot system? If so, what is the procedure.

Excuse my ignorance, but why can't you delete ME?

If you did a clean install of ME you will have to format and re install Win98.

You can't install win98 over winME... if you don't have win98 backed up in your system, you will have to do a format and re-install to get win98 back...
