Going from t3 lan to 56k.

I sit here almost in tears.
The days of high speed internet is gone, at least for 8 mnths until my co-op is overwith.

Something i once took for granted now I wish I had.

Anyway, haven't been around for a while just wrote to say hey to all.

I feel your pain. My first introduction to the Internet was a college 10mbps ethernet line. Then I graduated and now I sit on 56k. It stinks 🙁

Well, since I've never seen better than 31k anywhere I've lived...

Must be like going back to a 14" monitor after having a 21"/17" dual monitor setup (I surf large, just slooowly 🙂)

ohh so thats what happened to suorangeman, aint seen him in a week, he's on a 14.4 ouch, any one remember the old 2,400 i remember our first, cost like 130 bux

I'm still hoping one day I will win the lottery and be able to a) install a t3 in my house or b) run fiber optic cables to my house and get gigabit service.

I'm on DSL and I still yearn for my school's t3...🙁

Is there something like AA but for people suffering from I-net denial? 🙁

"the terrible screech of dial up haunts me..."

Actually.. I kind of like it. I hear it every once in a while and it reminds me of the good old days 🙂

i went from one of 3 dorms on 6 t-1s on 10mbit lan to one of 12 dorms on 10mbit lan. I am now getting 28.8 speeds when i used to download at 250k/sec. And they are teasing us by saying they are going to be putting in an oc-3 for the past year and a half now. I did find out it is going in the semester after i get an apartment.

I feel you... I was just on my old computer... 28.8 modem... cuz I refused to install AOL on my new one. Fortunately, a good friend lent me his Rutgers dial up account, so now I'm surfing on a 56k winmodem... still no T1 though. Probably the only thing I'm looking forward to back at school. Hate everything else...

edit: My DSL line is supposed to get activated in a week or two... but you know how the DSL story works... it'll more than likely be summer before they finally activate that thing... damn VERIZON...

Almost samething happened to me except i went from a T-1 to a 56k... don't worry too much about it... u really tend to get used to it... and when u get back ur fast connection... U'll LOVE IT!!!
