Current specs: try not to laugh:eek:

2400+ XP Athlon (2ghz)
Asus radeon 9600xt 128mb
ASrock K7VM2 (has dual ram slots for PC 133 and ddr2100)
640mb PC133 sdram (512+128)

Here's the dealio, if I were to buy a 1 gig stick of ddr ram would i see a noticeable improvement? I'd purchase, say a 1 gig stick of ddr3200/400mhz for later use and I know it will clock down to 2100 standards due to the bus on the MB.

IS it worth the purchase of a 1gig stick of ddr compared using 640mb or sdram pc133?

Any suggestions are appreciated, and i know i need a new rig but this is to spice it up just for now.

It depends on what you do with your computer. If you are not using ram intensive apps, you won't see much difference.

for newer games (2004 or later) you'll prolly notice faster loading and no studdering.

you could always save it for a s939 upgrade, but on its own I wouldn't say it's worth it.

Ya true, but I would have to buy DDR ram either or for an upgrade. I'm just saying i have a dual ddr/sd motherboard, just for now a quick "pick me up". And could use the ddr later down the line for a future system,I can always through my sdram back in.
