going from IDE to SATA RAID

might be in the wrong forum...but here goes

i have one IDE drive that has my os and all my data on it, is there any way i can transfer this to a SATA RAID (striped) array without having to reinstall my os?

running win2kpro, using onboard SATA RAID on my nf7-s 2.0, not sure of the drives yet, havent actually gotten them...thx in advance

Acronis or Ghost should do the trick. You might want to try the utility from the drive manufacturer first because it's free.

if they're WD HDD's i think that Lifeguard can do it for you. I could be wrong but i thought that it had a simple ghost program built in. you might check that out. Other then that i think i would have to revert to DOS and find my old DOS book it's been that ong since i ghosted a drive

Create the array, install whatever os you are using and just copy over the compete data with xcopy32 <old drive>:*.* /e /s <new drive>:

Or back it up and copy it back, or use an imaging program.
