Let's see. I'm at court for stealing......think I need to steal something to pay my fine.

Connecticut police say a man who was at court to answer to criminal charges used a break in the hearing to break into several cars in front of the courthouse. It happened at Rockville Superior Court. Rockville is east of Hartford.
Thomas Peno was at the court on larceny charges. Police say that during a break he went outside the court and started breaking into cars. He allegedly stole a GPS unit out of one car and apparently inadvertently tried to sell it back to the actual owner.
Judicial marshals at the court re-arrested Peno. He was being held on $25,000 bail.
It was Peno's 40th arrest.

thats not even close to the record.

i watch Worlds Dumbest Criminals on TruTV and they showed some guy who had been arrested well over 100 times, i believe it was up into the 300's if I remember correctly.

It's a little known feature on the higher end units. If a thief gets hold of one, the GPS steers the thief back to the owner.

Well, here is the thing.....once you have an established record even if you want to turn your life around...your really can't. Who will hire you? You have to pay the bills some how so you go back to what you know.

He's probably not very concerned about going to jail, it's free room and board. Three hots a day, etc. Why should he bother to improve? Hell, a prison cell might be more confortable than his usual sleeping place who knows.

It wouldn't surprise me if this guy's actually either mentally challenged and/or disturbed, as it's not exacly normal behavior - even for a carreer criminal - to start breaking into cars during recess of your own court appearance.

Hired a woman that has a misdemeanor conviction and am finding it impossible to get a limited lines insurance license for her from the state. If you get a felony you are screwed.

Exactly! I'm not defending this guy but this outcome really shouldn't be that surprising.

Well yea after your 39th arrest, there's no turning back, but if he would have nipped this in the bud early and gotten his felonies reduced and misdemeanors expunged, he could still be a functioning member of society. Most criminals are too dumb to realize there's methods out there to restore your record.
