All right. I turned in my final paper for the class I'm almost done with today so now I can play for a while. My new Epox 8RDA+/Tbred "B" 2100+/Corsair XMS PC3200 are getting a workout.

I was running the system at 166MHz FSB at 100% with a CPU speed of 2.18GHz while I was working on my project.

Now, it is running at 190MHz FSB at 100% with a CPU speed of 2.16GHz (under freq?, it's supposed to be 2.18GHz according to my calculator) at 1.75Vcore with the memory set at 6-2-2-2. Prime95 has been running for 20 minutes now, CPU temp. is holding stable at 54C. Yes, it's a bit high but well within specs and my cooler is quiet. I like the balance. If Prime95 is fine at this speed, I'll try to lower the voltage a step and test for stability.

Wish me luck.

Well, that's odd. I was looking at the speed readout on MBM 5.3.0.0 and it is saying 2160MHz but WCPUID is reporting 2194.39MHz. Which is right? I hope WCPUID is. :)

WCPUID is actually in agreement with Windows so I am going with the 2.19GHz number.

And I paused the Prime95 after almost 1.5 hours to do some SiSoft Sandra 2003 tests.

My Tbred "B" 2100+ running at 190MHz x 11.5 (2.19GHz) is as fast as an AthlonXP Barton 3000+. Not bad for a $87 chip.

190MHz FSB is a go. Prime95 is still cranking away, CPU loaded temp. is 51C, it was 50C when I woke up the monitor.

I'll go for a faster bus speed later.

Excellent. I have lowered Vcore to 1.725V and Prime95 has been going steady for 30 minutes. I'll let this go all day long and see how it does.

Oh, loaded CPU temp. is 54C with case temp. of 32C. Ambient temp. is unknown right now.

I am so anxious to get this chip down to 1.70Vcore at this FSB. I really want to get to 200MHz FSB but I noticed in PC Health that Vdd is reporting in at only 1.58V. I don't think the board is gonna do it.

Prime95 has been running now for 5.5 hours at the reduced Vcore. I'm pleased with the results here. I might try for 200MHz FSB back at the 1.75Vcore setting. I wonder if I should risk having to go back in and reset all the BIOS options again. That's a pain in the butt.

Well, I did it. I am at DDR400. 10.5x200MHz FSB. POSTed as an AthlonXP 2600+ @ 2105MHz.

I'm going to reboot and up the multiplier to 11 and see if it POSTs.

Well, scratch that. It locked up a minute after I posted the last message. I backed the FSB down to 195MHz and upped the multiplier to 12.5 for a CPU speed of 2.25GHz.

We'll see what it does here and then try again tomorrow.

Mine is a week 0301. It's a good chip, I know this difficulty is all mobo. Damn the low Vdd. :(

Vdd is the north bridge chip voltage. It is fine for rated operation but for 200MHz+ FSB it is too low. I can get close though. 195MHz is nothing to complain about.

None so far, but I did hear that the new Abit NF7-S will and the 8RDA3+ (I think that is the model) might. We'll see.
