Hi ..

My Onkyo NR-906 has died after 4 years in service .. I don't want to repair it as I'm sure it'll be expensive and not worth it ..

I need an advise on a receiver with the following specs:

- 5.1 is enough (no need for more, i know my old receiver was 7.1, but i'm OK with 5.1)

- NOT Onkyo

- Processes HDMI including 3D (HDMI 1.4a)

Thanks in advance ..

Pretty much every current non-stereo receiver fits that bill. In my experience Onkyos have been the least reliable, while Yamahas have been the most.

I've got a Marantz NR1402 and I really like it. It doesn't get hot at all, even when my room temperature is above 80 F.

Love my Pioneer (about a year old), but I can only stream audio (and no video) to it via Airplay, which limits me to using iTunes. Not terrible, but now that I use Plex with my Roku, a whole new world has opened up. Point being, get a receiver that has at least one LAN port and supports Bluetooth, DLNA, and other streaming technologies that don't put you in a box.
