Oh yea one more thing. As of the last time I went, alcohol wasn't allowed, but it's not really enforced. In fact the crew will actually tell you to bring a cooler and some of those party cups. As long as you don't make it obvious and don't cause any problems, they really don't care what you drink.

Deep sea fishing is the best! I'm used to fishing on the west coast of Florida. Have fun, get some Striped Sea Bass and Fluke :)

Oh yea another thing... If you're not used to being on boats for long periods of time, I highly recommend bringing some Dramamine.

Agreed. I rarely get sick unless the seas are VERY rough, but I still take it. Once you take it, you don't have to worry about getting sick and ruining your day. I remember one trip where the seas were super rough, and almost every single person on the boat was sick...I just kept right on fishing.

Also, unless you get the non drowsy type, it will make you sleepy. I usually take it about a 1/2 hour before I board the boat, then I sleep on the ride out...

:)

I get seasick very easily. I've taken pretty much every medication I could find but I found that nothing worked for me. I discovered Scopace recently and had my doctor prescribe it. It has the transderm patch medicine but 4 times more strong. I'm going on a rock fishing trip on Friday out of Half Moon Bay, Cal. Hope to catch some mighty big lingcod.

No way! I fished out of Halfmoon a couple weeks ago, just killed em. Got a monster double hit and brought up a ling keeper and a red, took some work bringing up. They're doing real good on rockfish right now.

You could also try Bonine. It works better for me than Dramamine.

Oh and for the ling, they're biting on squid and bars. I tried using the small blacks to lure hitchhikers but no luck, might be too early in the season for it.

I thought you are going fishing like those guys in The Perfect Storm. I heard it pays extremely well, because the seas are so dangerous.
