Going back to the forum from a thread

not sure if this sounds right, but here goes.

i'm showing 100 threads in Off Topic. i click on for example, thread 76, which is all the way near the bottom. once i'm done with the thread i hit back. it automatically shoots me up to the top of the forum as opposed to where i was before at the bottom.

feels weird as this never happened before with the old layout. i've tried with a few different workstations here, all exhibit the same behavior through IE.

It's because there's some javascript magic which focuses the search box upon page load. Evil in more ways than one, namely breaking typeahead find (well, you have to hit tab first). :|

I also have 100 threads on the page and start from the bottom and work up. If i click on the 99th thread, I want to remain on the bottom when I go back to that forum. It is very annoying to have to move down from the top every time. Can this be fixed, back to the way it was before. Other than that, The new look is fine by me.

I gotta agree this is crap, be down 50 or 60 threads and then return to the top. Also for me any links are pop under and I have to minimize the window to see them, don't know if it's this new garbage software or me.

BAH!

I also agree it needs to be fixed...

I'm sure Jason is burnt out by now, but hey, that's what happens when you get paid the big bucks..

I'm really bothered by this behaviour too. Why do they have to break perfectly functioning stuff everytime they update the forums? Have they ever heard the old saying "IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!!!!!"
