there this salsa class i wanna take but most of the people (girls) i've asked are busy/ don't wanna, so i am thinking of just taking it alone.

kinda feel weird taking the class on my own, i'm not required to bring a partner so its no big deal.

what does ATOT think of a guy going to a dance class alone ?
i kinda want to take the class so i can actually go with my friends when they go dancing.

Don't worry about it. I'm guessing the teacher doesn't have a regular partner for the classes...

i would check the class first because i am betting that 99.9999% of the other folks are going to be in couples. You might get away with dancing with the instructor, but, good luck.
I love salsa/ballroom dancing and I applaud anyone who wants to learn.

No problem there - it takes a lot to actually say that you're interested in such things, but they'll be very rewarding in the long run. I've been wanting to take lessons myself, but don't have a partner here in Phoenix. We'll see how it goes. Good luck!

If they say no partner is required it most likely means no partner is required. At the place I take lessons at they actually rotate the women. Or men, depending on which is fewer. Don't be nervous, take a shower before, brush your teeth, introduce yourself. You'll be fine. Remember you need to lead. Do be forceful, but don't make the girl lead you.

If you are still in college, there might be clubs (with pro instructors) offering ballroom, salsa, swing lessons.

Make sure that your instructor is okay with it. People here might call you gay, but I fail to understand how wallflowers can make fun of a guy dancing with a woman.

also they don't say no partner required, but it doesn't say anything on the description about a partner... i figure if they require one i can get them to refund me.

Just go. One of my friends goes and is pretty good now. We make fun of him, but I respect him for going out and doing it. I make fun of him for other things.

I just went by myself a couple of days ago to a salsa lesson. No sweat. Most people are all learning so they're generally not there to judge you. Plus, alot of the classes are on a rotation basis. You'll be fine and you'll have fun.

What everyone else said.

-if it doesn't say partner specifically, it's rotation
-it's very likely there will be many more girls than guys
-take a shower
-have fun!
