(Not ) Gonna be a junk tycoon.


Took a trailer load of miscellaneous junk a few weeks ago. Weighed out around 600 pounds and got about $50 which wasn't a fortune, but it beat having to pay the dump to take it.

Small trailer so I couldn't take it all. Loaded up again with another batch I figure to be 300 pounds or so.

But now I found a different yard now that also takes eJunk, so I'm loading every PCMIA and other kind of board, cell phone, MoBo, battery or whatever else I can find. Again, I know it won't be a lot of money, but I won't have to pay somebody to take it.

Anything metal I find if I just leave it curbside it's gone like the wind within hours every time even without even announcing it on CL.

Driving up the cost of vintage tech by disposing of it

A little over 800 pounds yielded a little under $60 .... not rich by any means, but at least I didn't have to pay to get rid of it.


Rate dropped quite a bit though. Last run paid $185/ton, this one was $125/ton.
