My budget will be $200 for the night and I'm goin to Atlantic City. What are the best newbie games to play for 4-5 hrs within my budget?

I've played roulette before but just for the heck coz some friends were playing it. I consider that visit just a walk in and not a casino experience.

However this time, I want to have some fun.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

If you play any real games, your money will be gone within an hour. Stick to nickle slots, you'll have more fun there.

200 can be gone in 10 minutes at nickel slots

If you know some hold em poker, it's one of the best ways to chill out with others on the table while still being able to win. 200$ will be tough to last 4-5 hours though if you end up on the bad end of 1-2 hands. Blackjack is another good game but, again you may end up on the wrong end very quickly with those minimum 15$ bets. I have no idea if there are lower tables but I'm sure there might be.

As for nickel slots, if you like rolls of paper with pictures roll by for hours, I can draw 7's on toiler paper so you can experience the fun of slots right at home, and you wouldn't lose any money this way either. And I'm talking as someone who has something like a 500% ROI in slots. If you do play slots, play a single line slot machine (the game lasts longer, and when you hit you hit for bigger amounts vs what you put in then 5 line slots), and for god's sake, do NOT play a progressive slot machine unless you want to lose every 3rd credit to a chance at winning the lottery...

The house is stacked against you. Assume that the $200 is gone already.

Take $180 and leave it in your car. Find a slot machine that takes the highest maximum bet that is under $20. Operate machine, betting max every time, until either the $20 is gone (likely), or you win big (unlikely). If you win big continue playing or pocket the winnings. Leave casino and eat a $180 meal at a very nice restaurant.

Casinos are a waste of time and money, but a $180 meal might be worth experiencing. Probably not, but if you just have to blow $200, why not spread it around a bit?

Poker is the only game in the casino you might be able to get a positive expected value out of. When I've hung out at the hard rock in biloxi they had slot machines built into the bar, and playing those was the fastest way to get free drinks. Those were the only slots I'd play, and I'd play really slow.

$200 can last 5 hours at blackjack... or 5min.

They deal fast because the more hands you play, the more likely the casino wins.

Your best bet is to play a $5 blackjack table ($5 tables are almost non-existent anymore).

Penny slots are your friend.

I'm only a foxwoods guy but here's the scoop -

if you're going on a weekend minimum bets will be high, unless you get there early. Weekdays are better.

Only play slots if one is calling for you. Don't look for one, a winning one will find you.

Roulette is a good game because no players will yell at you for being a n00b. Every play is independent of the next, unlike blackjack.

If you like dice, find cheap craps. But don't waste too much money betting on the other shooters while waiting for your turn. That is more complicated though.

Table games have like 1 - 3 % house advantage so you can easily win money if you have a bit of luck. Never make a "field" bet as the odds are much worse.

Most importantly, you have set your loss budget of 200 bucks. Set your gain budget, like if you win another 200 bucks, stop. People often win and then spend it all. Save it, because next time the house will take your money.

I've been to the casino maybe a dozen time with budgets around 200 bucks and lifetime am maybe down 2-300 bucks, more than gas and the other costs for a fun trip.

Yeah, but nobody gave me any advice. That was money well spent in learning the ropes at a casino. I've had me some good days, but in the end to not be an addict, you have to be honest with yourself.

Also, unless you're good at hold'em don't bother being more fresh meat to that recent craze.

Sure, it's a waste of money, but it's ENTERTAINMENT. No one frets when you pay $200 for a couple of tickets to a broadway show or play. So you're blowing that much money for 2 hours of entertainment.

Or a couple of football/basketball/baseball tickets. By the time you pay for tickets and food, you're about $100 a person.

At least you get free booze at a blackjack table! lol

So, yep it's a waste of money, but if you play smart and just enjoy yourself, you don't have to lose a ton of money and it can be fun!

The odds are exactly the same as if you spread the minimum bet around the numbers. Way more fun when you hit and get paid 35-1. You need to find a chair at a table though.

If you find an english-style wheel (only one zero, no double zero) the odds are less for the house.

My roulette strategy would be to play my winning number. Find a 10 dollar table (or 5 is one exists) and budget 200 bucks. I'd look for a table that hadn't hit 22 yet, or hit it a lot (3 or more) in recent spins. Then I just put all 10 bucks on 22. The odds are 35-1. If I hit by 20 plays, I still make 150 bucks. This worked for me maybe 70% of the time in all my attempts. It is gutsy though, and I don't like losing that much at one thing.

Yeah, I know spins are not dependent on the previous, but then again, nothing is perfectly random so you have to go on feel.

Poker. Just play premium hands, and you should last a few hours at least (assuming you don't get screwed).
