GOG - Looks like they're up to something again . . .

Swat 3 & 4 were 2 of my favorite games, I never played the 1st 2. PQ was fun when I was in 8th grade. I'd almost definitely buy this if they release it.

Well, it just looks like they added the Zork anthology and Police Quests 1-4.

Not quite what I was expecting, but i guess we can expect to see the rest of the Infocom games packaged and released in the near future - definitely the best I.F. of the Genre.

Police Quest was a Siera game series I thought? I only played PQ3 myself, but it was fun. Wouldn't run on the Pentium 60, since it was timed for a 386, and you couldn't drive without running into something with too fast of a computer.

Seeing a GOG thread provoked me to finally install the Painkiller Black Edition I bought off GOG a zillion years ago. One map played. It sure feels different from the modern slow FPSs.

"It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a Grue."

From their homepage. Awesome.

Haven't yet bought anything from gog, but how does it work? Make an account and they have a listing of games your games that you can then d/l anytime like steam/impulse?

Yeah, you get a Bookshelf with all your games.

You can re-download at anytime & no DRM on any of the titles.

You get three free games just for signing up.

EDIT:
Sorry, it was three free games, not four (changed).

Yes, although the download client isn't as advanced as Steam/Impulse. You just download it directly, or use their client to do it. I had to download Baldurs Gate 2 three times before I got a version that wasn't corrupted. I also can't actually play the game though, because of other technical problems, but I figure I will get to that once I finish the first game.

The nice part is that it is completely DRM free, and you can burn it to a DVD and not have to ever worry about downloading it again.
