These guys kick ass.

We've always been on a mission to offer you games with no DRM protection whatsoever. Today, we want to start taking things a step further, help out people who bought a retail game with DRM, then ended up stuck with something rather unplayable. We can help you enjoy your favorites once again, and this time around, enjoy them DRM-free!
There are countless retail games out there that don’t work for various reasons: unsupported types of DRM, system incompatibilities, broken features. There's too many too count. Starting today, owners of several retail titles originally sold with DRM can get a digital copy of their game completely free at GOG.com: with no DRM as always, compatible with modern operating systems, and with plenty of goodies to boot.
Reclaim these games, DRM-FREE:
Editions released worldwide:
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat
Editions released only in CIS & Russian territories:
-Mount & Blade: Warband
-Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword
-Eador: Genesis

Have a couple titles I'd like to be able to submit to them so they can crank out a playable copy.

I suppose that feature will be useful for many who do have such problems with "affected" games. I have to admit, however, that in my 300+ games library none of them have a single issue. They all install (and play) well. I even bought Bulletstorm recently (during last year's Steam holidays sales) and all it required was a GFWL account (which to my surprise can still be created today without any issues).

Now of course I don't necessarily like - per se - having to create accounts left and right to log-in to a service to access my games, but purely on a technical level everything still functions. The only DRM-related issue I would like to get rid of, if it ever does show up its ugly nose, would be the activation limitation "feature". I do believe that at least one of the STALKER games was affected by that (or was it all three of them... I don't quite recall). For now, however, they're all working (currently all installed and functioning on my Steam library, not to mention that I also own SoC retail which also still works well).

Anyway, I suppose I'm lucky enough. I do know some people really do have issues with certain games that they actually had to find a cracked executable for so that they could finally play the damn thing, even though they did buy a legitimate retail copy (and still doesn't work without a crack). Cases like that need to disappear, and what GOG is doing will certainly help (if not simply fix everything once and for all).

I don't think Steam games qualify, but fallout 3 requires some file editing to get it to work on Steam (at least it used to.)

I can list at least half a dozen games sitting at my desk at work. Actually looking through my library at home and making it even longer shouldn't be a problem.

Oh, this is absolutely fantastic - I just added all three of my retail Stalker games. That's three less games I have to backup ISOs and maintain no-CD cracks for.

Also FYI it works with Steam keys, not just retail keys (my version of CoP is from Steam).

Wow, I can't wait for more games to be added. I have quite a few retail and Steam titles which are in their database, and getting them DRM free would be awesome.
