the one thing I like about GOG over steam is that because the game have no drm they can easily be run under wine and most of the older ones run fine...

No. To me, the worst feature of GOG is that their library consists of so many games I can still find my original copies of.

With the hollywoodization of video gaming, quality full games that also have real character to them, became rare. They're coming back (flash games, indie downloadable games, etc.), but there has been a blandness taking over mainstream video gaming over the last several years. A good old romp through Serious Sam, Clive Barker's commercial flops (most have been great games, IMO), a silly shareware-era title, a Lucas adventure game, etc., is just what you need.

I picked up Beyond Good and Evil, Beneath a Steel Sky, and Giants. I'm sure I'll have to grab a few more, at some point (MDK and Sacrifice, off the top of my head), but between FO3 (+DLCs and mods--New Vegas is just gonna have to wait), Torchlight, and picking up Morrowind again, I've got more than I can play, as it is. Beneath a Steel Sky is now free, but I had to see the screenshots and description to realize that I'd played it ages ago, and loved it...but never finished it, and had managed to forget about it.
