I am leaning real hard toward the broken sword deal. Have the first, beat it, loved it.

It'll be interesting to see what else they roll out.

The second one is really good too, but I never bothered with the 3D ones.

I'll always recommend Gothic 1 and 2 when they pop up on sale, very atmospheric. I just recently played through Gothic 1 again, and was surprised how well it held up; though I'm sure the controls would take some getting used to if you had never played it before.

Just traded for Gothic 1 this morning.

Any Graphic Mods you'd recommend?

I played it mostly stock, but there is a frame rate fix I wouldn't play without. Also, the controls take getting used to as I mentioned, but keep in mind that your character is supposed to be very awkward with a weapon when untrained. Once you are trained, the animations change, and make the controls feel more responsive. Lastly, I think mouse controls may be off by default, I remember having to change something to get a bit more contemporary control method.

The FPS unlocker, among other things is detailed in the link.

What do you think of Gothic 3, Risen, or any of the other games even Arcania?

I enjoyed Gothic 3, and while it's a more flawed game than Gothic II, it's also more ambitious. The large open world never feels like it was just generated by a height map like a lot of open world games, so in spite of it's size, the world is always interesting to explore, and feels thought out. When I played it, it hadn't been updated to where it is now with all the community (I think made semi-official now?) patches, so the technical side is likely a lot better.

I haven't played Risen past the demo, so I can't really comment much. The small part I played reminded me enough of Gothic that I bought it though, just have it in the backlog, I should probably get to that one.

Added 3 games to cart. Noticed I wasn't logged in, logged in just to make sure. Owned all 3 already. Saw a 4th of interest, clicked. Owned already. Sheesh.
