I do like GOG - their conversions are pretty sweet to get old games working on win 7 and win 8.....if they were able to snag more of thew new games market; I seriously look at switching over....

I like GOG as a company, and I love their DRM policy, but I think this client is a little too late. Steam so saturates the market already, and it causes people so few problems, I think they'll have a tough time getting adoption.

I'd love to be proven wrong though.

The key is getting games.
They have a solid lineup of DRM free games, but most of them are older games. If they can persuade people to release new games DRM free, hopefully people will stop being insane and buying the DRM versions and buy DRM free copies instead.

I don't have a problem with them allowing regional pricing for games from other people, since otherwise a lot of developers would almost certainly not agree to release newer games DRM free with them, but THEIR OWN GAME??!?!?!?!?!?!

They've been getting a lot of new indie games lately, it's not just old stuff.

I love GOG, I have far more games purchased through them than through Steam. I was surprised to hear the announcer say G-O-G though, not "Gawg" as I normally say it.

Also, I expect this will be the most luxurious online client, with rich Corinthian leather.

What does who releasing it have to do with regional pricing? If a region has a much lower cost of living, releasing it at the US region price is stupid. If the game is release in Whateveristan and they made $100USD a month, at most, releasing a game for $60USD there is stupid.

What do you care what someone else pays for a game anyway? If the price offered to you is fair, who cares what someone in a different region payed.

So yeah, learn a bit of history.

And their DISCOUNTED (10%) pre-order price from GoG.com in my region is higher than even a B&M new game, and their regular price is just obscene. I can buy it cheaper than the 20% discounted price for having W1+2 on GoG if I buy from Amazon.

I assume quit a bit of the reason is currency devaluation when converting the sales to USD. All companies do this and there's nothing wrong with it.

They are a European company.
The price is $60 USD in the US.
In the UK it's $70 BEFORE tax at 20%.
And typically games are cheaper in the UK than the US if you buy physical copies. Digital prices are just idiotic nearly always. And CDP/GOG have decided to continue the trend.
